Dr. Judith Abdel-Massih-Thiemann

 

Dr. Judith Abdel-Massih-Thiemann has a master degree in educational sciences and a doctorate in cultural anthropology. From 2004-2013 she worked with the German Development Service (DED) and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit  (GIZ) in Sudan/South Sudan, Jordan and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Since end of 2013 she has been working as a freelance consultant for organisational and project development in Germany and abroad and as an election observer.
She has extensive regional experience in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa and in the areas of civil society, peace and democracy promotion, migration and integration, education and vocational training and employment promotion. Her support services focus on project management (including capacity WORKS), project planning, results based monitoring (including KOMPASS) and evaluation (including central project evaluations), and comprise of service delivery, consultations as well as training, coaching and mentoring. With more than 20 years of professional experience, she has developed a deep understanding of development cooperation and peacebuilding based ob the AGenda 2030 SDGs and is very familiar with conflict-sensitive approaches, do no harm, Leave No One Behind (LNOB) and the consideration of other cross-cutting issues and safeguards such as gender, conflict, environment protection and human rights.
Since 2019, she has been including equestrian supported approaches (training, coaching, therapy) in her portfolio in Germany, particularly,  but not exclusively, for vulnerable groups.
